With its Portuguese market arrival scheduled for next June, Mazda has already kicked off pre-orders for the new CX-6e - a brand-new, fully electric SUV built in partnership with Changan, and one that is aiming high in Europe by positioning itself in the premium segment.
Even so, the new CX-6e will be offered at prices in line with more mainstream rivals, with prices starting from €44,985.
Pre-orders, launch timing and first reveal
Mazda’s new SUV made its global debut in December 2025, an event we attended. In this video, we highlight the main talking points of the model:
Premium positioning for the Mazda CX-6e
As mentioned, the new Mazda CX-6e lands with a premium positioning, with its “sights” set on alternatives such as the XPeng G6, Tesla Model Y, or even the Audi Q6 e-tron. It will be sold in two trim levels - Takumi and Takumi Plus - priced from €44,985 and €47,985, respectively.
Platform, powertrain and WLTP range
Beneath the bodywork, the Japanese SUV sits on the EPA1 platform, the same architecture used by its “sibling”, the Mazda 6e. Unlike that model, however, the CX-6e is only available with the larger-capacity battery (78 kWh) and a rear-axle-mounted electric motor producing 190 kW (258 hp). For driving range, Mazda quotes 484 km on the combined WLTP cycle.
Standard equipment and Takumi Plus upgrades
On the equipment front, this Japanese SUV stands out for offering an especially comprehensive specification. Regardless of version, both include a heat pump, a 50″ head-up display, ambient lighting, a wide suite of driver-assistance systems, 360º cameras, a panoramic roof, tinted rear windows, among other features.
Choosing the range-topping Takumi Plus adds 21″ alloy wheels, digital interior and exterior mirrors, and seat trim in a combination of Amethyst and White Maztex (purple and white). Find all the details in this video:
