Volvo Cars to act as Lynk & Co’s exclusive European importer

Lynk & Co is not a new name in the European market. The brand arrived on the “old continent” in 2018 with a different business approach built around subscriptions. Since then, that model has gradually been sidelined in favour of a more traditional retail sales strategy. Owned within the Geely group, Lynk & Co is already present in several European countries, including Sweden, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Italy.

Lynk & Co’s track record in the European market

From a commercial standpoint, Lynk & Co has never truly broken through in Europe. In 2025, the brand registered 9571 units; even so, that represents a 59.8% increase compared with the same period year on year. Now, its prospects may be about to change.

Volvo Cars becomes Lynk & Co’s exclusive European importer

Volvo Cars and Geely Auto have signed a memorandum of understanding for a new commercial partnership that makes Volvo the exclusive European importer for Lynk & Co. In practice, this means the Swedish car maker will take responsibility for the brand’s commercial operations across the continent.

As a result, it will be possible to buy Lynk & Co models through Volvo’s dealer network - something that was already the case in certain markets - as well as access aftersales support services, widening the brand’s potential footprint.

“With this new agreement, we will leverage our commercial set-up to support Lynk & Co’s growth ambitions in Europe,” says Erik Severinson, Chief Commercial Officer at Volvo Cars.

According to the executive, Volvo also benefits in a tangible way: “it allows our partners to serve a broader customer base. With the support of our retailers and our commercial organisation, Lynk & Co can reach its true potential in Europe,” he concluded.

What remains with Geely Auto, and what happens next

Lynk & Co’s global development, product certification and all operations outside Europe will continue to sit with Geely Auto, keeping the brand’s strategic autonomy worldwide.

Although the memorandum of understanding has been signed, the partnership still depends on final agreements being completed. Only after that will Volvo formally take over Lynk & Co’s commercial operations in Europe.

Despite being active in many European markets, Lynk & Co is not yet present in Portugal, and there are currently no announcements on when it might arrive.
