Jaguar ends new petrol car sales in Australia
Jaguar has confirmed it will stop selling new petrol-powered cars in Australia on 31 December 2025. What remains in showrooms are only “Approved Used” vehicles showing up to 50 km on the odometer, meaning they are not officially classified as new. Production of Jaguar’s internal-combustion range has already wrapped up: the final car, a black F-Pace SVR with a V8, will be placed in the Jaguar Heritage Trust collection.
Australian sales fall to a 29-year low
In Australia, Jaguar’s sales have dropped to just 520 units in 2025, the brand’s weakest result in 29 years. The I-Pace is no longer available as a new model, as the company’s pricing strategy for its upcoming EVs is moving upmarket to around $300k by local standards. In the meantime, dealers are expected to rely on Land Rover, which recorded 8339 vehicle sales.
Pricing and launch timetable for the new Jaguar EV line-up
In the United Kingdom, pricing is quoted at £117–120k, with top-spec versions reaching up to £150k. In Australia, the effective entry price is expected to land close to $300k. A debut is promised for summer 2026, with European deliveries planned for the first half of 2027. Jaguar Australia has also confirmed that the new EV range will come to the local market, with timing to be announced later.
