Only around 300 Koenigsegg cars have been built to date, since the brand launched its first hypercar in 2002.
As a result, the chances of coming across one on the road are extremely slim. However, over the past weekend those odds rose dramatically: Portugal hosted another edition of the Ghost Squadron Tour, effectively turning the country into the world capital of Koenigsegg.
This annual gathering-naturally reserved exclusively for owners of the Swedish marque’s models-visits a different country each year. Along the way, it seeks out the best driving roads and landmark locations, punctuated by a handful of events in between.
Ghost Squadron Tour 2025 in Portugal
During the Ghost Squadron Tour 2025, the squadron of Swedish hypercars tackled some iconic Portuguese routes, including Arrábida and the road by Lagoa Azul.
They also put their machines’ mega performance to the test on the tarmac at the Circuito do Estoril.
Koenigsegg models seen on the tour
Anyone fortunate enough to encounter this striking procession up close could admire models such as the Agera, the Regera, the Jesko, and the CC850-Koenigsegg’s tribute to its first model, the CC8S.
For a few days, spotting a Koenigsegg in Portugal was more than just wishful thinking; it was reality.
